Window and door replacement, finished properly inside and out

Replacement windows, entry doors, patio doors and interior doors — installed, sealed and trimmed by finish carpenters, so the inside looks as good as the new unit.

Made in our own shop

The installation matters as much as the window

A high-end window installed badly will leak air, sweat in winter and never look right from the inside. Most of what goes wrong with replacement windows and doors happens in the gap between the unit and the house: the shimming, insulation, air seal and flashing, and the interior trim that covers it. Because we are finish carpenters first, we treat the interior side of the job as part of the installation, not an afterthought.

What we replace

  • Windows — casement, awning, picture, slider and double-hung units, in retrofit or full-frame installations.
  • Entry doors — front and side doors, including sidelites and transoms.
  • Patio and garden doors — sliding and hinged units.
  • Interior doors — slab or pre-hung, often as part of a whole-house door and trim upgrade.

How a replacement project works

  1. Assessment. We look at the existing openings, the condition of the framing and sills, and how the current trim is detailed, and we talk through what you want to improve — draughts, appearance, operation or all three.
  2. Specification and ordering. We help you choose units and configurations, confirm exact sizes, and order. We will tell you lead times up front so you can plan.
  3. Removal and preparation. Old units come out carefully to protect surrounding finishes. Openings are checked for rot or damage and repaired before the new unit goes in.
  4. Installation and sealing. Units are set level and plumb, shimmed, insulated and sealed against air and water — important with Alberta’s temperature swings and Canmore’s mountain weather.
  5. Interior finishing. New extension jambs, casing and stools are installed and finished to match the rest of the house, or upgraded if you want a new look.
  6. Clean-up and walkthrough. We check operation, locks and seals with you before we leave.

Typical scope

Some homeowners replace a few problem windows; others do the whole house over one or two phases. Entry doors are often a single-day swap, while whole-house window projects are scheduled around delivery dates and weather.

What makes RZT different

  • Carpenters, not just installers. The interior trim around a window is the part you look at every day, and it is our specialty.
  • Finishing in-house. New casing and stools can be sprayed in our paint booth to match existing trim.
  • One crew, start to finish. We do not hand off between an install crew and a separate trim crew.
